Beskrivning
The course is focused on individual differences and personalities in animals and humans, which is a dynamic research area. Distinguished lectures will participate, from preclinical as well as clinical backgrounds. The overall theme will be on “personality traits” (coping styles, behavioral syndromes, shy/bold concepts….) and the relations to stress and stress-coping mechanisms.
Inlärningsmål
The course gives an introduction to behavioral studies, the use of laboratory animals including rodents, fish and drosophila, personality theories in humans, assessment of personality in humans, the role of personalities and individual differences in psychiatric disorders, and multivariate data analysis procedures for handling both small and large, and often complex data sets.
Undervisning
We welcome students from a broad background in preclinical or clinical behavioral studies with an interest in “personality traits” and individual differences.
Examination
The examination consists of a written essay, where the most important information for the students own project is summarized with suggestions on how to use the acquired knowledge from the course.
