Description
This course is designed for PhD students in biomedicine, health, humanities and social sciences with interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary research projects, who want to achieve visibility for their research beyond their home discipline. The focus of the course is on the specific challenges to make visible and reach out with interdisciplinary research. The course deals with the academic publishing system, how publishing traditions vary between scientific domains and disciplines, and what implications these differences have for information retrieval and publishing strategies in interdisciplinary research. The course addresses issues of visibility, impact and research communication both within and outside the traditional scientific journals. The course is organized by the Centre for Medical Humanities in collaboration with Uppsala University Library.
