Description
Learning outcomes
A basic understanding of the principles underlying the most common statistical analyses, and practical skills to perform and interpret these.
Contents
Descriptive statistics. Types of data sources and study designs. Using R to organize, clean and analyze data. Basic inference, such as estimation, test and prediction. Comparing differences in means and proportion in several populations. Correlation. Regression analysis for description and prediction with quantitative, binary, or survival outcomes with one or several independent variables.
Instructions
Lectures (14 x 2 hours).
Computer exercises in groups (10 x 2 hours).
Examination
Attendance at 11 or more lectures. Attendance at 7 or more computer exercises.
Written exam.
Literature
Compendium distributed during the course.
